Rainy season agricultural machinery safety tips
The International Driving Safety Survey shows that the accident rate of driving on rainy days is about five times higher than usual. Therefore, pilots must be vigilant when driving on rainy days.
Safe driving during rainy season
1. Before going out, do a good job of inspection. Check the sealing condition of the engine hood and the technical condition of the wipers and brakes. If any faults are found, they should be eliminated in a timely manner.
2. When driving in the rain, the first thing to pay attention to is the degree of tire wear. When encountering rainy days, the drainage capacity of excessively worn tires will deteriorate, and tractors are prone to skidding, which can pose a danger in emergency situations. So remind the driver to remember to check if the tires are worn beyond the standard before driving on rainy days.
3. When driving a tractor on rainy days, remember not to exceed the speed limit or overload. During the rainy season, the road is slippery and difficult to brake, which can easily lead to traffic accidents. When braking, try to slow down about 100 meters in advance and lightly brake to give enough emergency preparation time for oncoming vehicles to avoid collisions or rear end collisions caused by excessive braking.
4. When passing through waterlogged roads, the water depth should be measured first. If the waterlogging exceeds the height of the exhaust pipe, a detour should be taken. When the car passes through roads with accumulated water, muddy mountain roads, village depressions, and other areas with large amounts of water overflowing, the first step is to stop and check the depth of the accumulated water. If the water depth exceeds the exhaust pipe, it is easy to cause the tractor to stall; The water depth exceeds the bumper, making it easy for water to enter. Do not cross ditches or puddles at high speeds, as this can cause splashing and increase the actual wading depth, which can easily cause water to enter the diesel engine.
5. In case of rainstorm, the vision is reduced, the lights should be turned on in time and the pedestrians should be observed. Due to pedestrians holding umbrellas in the rain and cyclists wearing raincoats, their vision, hearing, and reaction are restricted. Sometimes, they even make sharp turns to cross the road, often panicking and slipping when the tractor approaches, catching the pilot off guard. When encountering this situation, the operator should slow down and patiently avoid it. If necessary, they can choose a safe place to park and should not rush to compete with villagers and children.
During the rainy season, there is more rainfall and a humid environment, and agricultural machinery is mostly made of iron, which has a significant impact on it. If agricultural machinery is not cleaned and maintained in a timely manner, it will seriously endanger the performance and service life of the machinery, and even lead to safety production accidents.
Eliminating hidden dangers and ensuring safety maintenance
1. Springs and transmission belts deformed. Cause: Parts such as springs and transmission belts in agricultural machinery may undergo plastic deformation if subjected to long-term force, and cannot recover their original shape after the force disappears. Response measures: All compressed or opened springs on tractors and harvesters can be relaxed, such as the intake and exhaust valves of the engine, which should be placed in a closed state; The drive belt can be removed and placed.
2. Mechanical corrosion. Cause: Long term exposure of agricultural machinery to acidic, alkaline, saline aqueous solutions, as well as humid air, causes electrochemical corrosion on the metal surface, leading to gradual corrosion of the metal. Response measures: Firstly, thoroughly clean before storage. Dust and oil stains should be removed from the tractor, and all lubrication parts should be lubricated according to maintenance regulations. The second is repainting. Search for areas where paint has fallen off, reapply paint, and apply rust proof grease to metal surfaces that are not corrosion-resistant. Thirdly, be careful not to place agricultural machinery in areas where it has been rained on for a long time. If there is no place to place it, plastic film can be used to cover it.
